Professional Criminal Defence Based in London, ON.

Meet Isaac Heo

Isaac graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he served as a file reviewer for the Innocence Project, gaining early experience reviewing complex wrongful conviction matters and developing a meticulous, evidence-focused approach to advocacy.

In under six years of practice, Isaac was accepted onto the Extremely Serious Matters panel with Legal Aid Ontario — a designation reserved for counsel who meet rigorous experience, competency, and performance criteria in handling the most complex and high-stakes criminal cases. Achieving this milestone so early in his career reflects both the volume and seriousness of the matters he has successfully managed.

Beyond his courtroom work, Isaac is committed to advancing fairness and access to justice. He currently serves as a defence counsel representative on the Gladue Committee in London and as a supervising lawyer for the Pro Bono Students Association, mentoring future advocates and supporting initiatives that improve legal access for underserved communities.

The Foundation of Our Legal Practice

Core Principles

These principles aren’t marketing lines. They are the foundation of how we serve every client, every single time.

Active Listening

Your defence starts with a conversation, not assumptions. We take the time to understand your situation, your goals, and the details that matter. Clear communication builds trust, and trust builds stronger results.

Meticulous Preparation

Winning cases isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about a careful and methodical review of the evidence, the law, and the strategy that will position you for the best outcome. We prepare every case as if it’s going to trial because thorough preparation creates leverage at every stage.

Relentless Advocacy

We do not back down. We pursue every available defence, challenge every weakness in the Crown’s case, and protect your rights at every stage. When the stakes are high, you need advocacy that is determined and unyielding

Your Legal Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of hiring a criminal lawyer in Ontario depends on the seriousness of the charge, the anticipated court process, and whether the matter proceeds to trial. At Trinity Criminal Defence, we use clear, structured block fees whenever possible so clients in London, Ontario and surrounding courts understand the financial commitment from the outset.

We also accept Legal Aid Ontario certificates for eligible matters. For private clients, a paid consultation provides meaningful legal advice and strategic direction from day one — not a brief sales meeting.

If you are arrested or contacted by police in London or anywhere in Ontario, exercise your right to remain silent and request to speak with a criminal defence lawyer immediately.

Early legal advice is not a formality: it is protection. What you say in the first hours of a case can shape everything that follows. A criminal lawyer can ensure your rights are respected and help you avoid decisions that may compromise your defence.

The short answer: no. Even well-intentioned explanations can unintentionally strengthen the prosecution’s case.

Before giving a statement in a criminal investigation — whether for assault, impaired driving, drug offences, or other charges — you should understand your rights and the potential consequences. Speaking with a criminal defence lawyer first allows you to make informed, strategic decisions rather than reactive ones.

A criminal charge is not a conviction. Being charged in London or elsewhere in Ontario does not automatically result in a criminal record.

Many criminal charges in London and Southwestern Ontario resolve without a conviction through withdrawals, peace bonds, diversion programs, or discharges. Protecting your record — and your future employment, travel, and reputation — is central to our defence strategy.

There is no universal timeline for a criminal case in Ontario. The length depends on disclosure, court scheduling, negotiations with the Crown, and whether the case proceeds to trial.

In London and surrounding courts, some matters resolve within months, while more serious or complex cases may take years. From the first appearance onward, we ensure you understand each stage and the strategic decisions being made.
